Go Ahead, Lay it on Thick

NSF, the international organization certifying water-related products for consumer safety, recently approved LifeLast’s NSF (-61) products for even thicker one coat application. Now NSF linings and coatings from LifeLast can be sprayed or rolled up to 250 mils in one pass.  These high build characteristics allow applicators to quickly encapsulate welds, rivets, and edges. So go ahead, lay it on thick!

Go Green, Go BioPreferred

Isn’t it great when making the “right” choice is also the easy thing to do? Are you aware you can choose a 100% solids, VOC-free polyurethane with 64% biological content? It’s true! LifeLast DuraShield 310 (regular and NSF) are USDA Certified Biobased Products. The US Department of Agriculture’s BioPreferredSM Program includes a labeling system that provides the information needed to choose environmentally responsible products that are more than 50% “biobased”… meaning made from renewable agricultural (plant, animal, and marine) materials or forestry materials. Certified products are tested to verify their biological content. That means public and private sector alike can support Mother Earth without compromising on quality or paying a premium; choose DuraShield 310. Learn more on our BioPreferred page.

ASCE Tourney Crowns New Champs

LifeLast’s defending champion team (Jeff Buratto, Ian McFatridge, John Bambei – Denver Water Board and Larry Swim – Northwest Pipe) were dethroned at this year’s ASCE Pipelines Conference Golf Tournament. The July 27th tournament rounded out the annual gathering that took place in Seattle, WA. McFatridge, who chaired the event, passed the bragging rights to the team of CH2M Hill’s Doug Jenkins and Walt Schwarz, PCCI’s Barney Lubetkin, & John Bush of Puget Sound Coatings. The LifeLast team did manage the runner-up slot. Third place accolades went to Northwest Pipe’s Russ Lascink and William Ast who partnered with Mike Ambroziak and Rudy Vigilia of HDR. LifeLast is proud to be a part of this annual gathering of the industry’s pipeline engineering community and has every intention of seeking to recapture their title at next year’s conference in Miami, FL.

Pipelines 2010, Keystone, Colorado. What a show!

Jeff and Ian returned from the 2010 Pipelines Show in Keystone, Colorado last Thursday.  The Show had incredible attendance, packed technical sessions and the venue was spectacular.  Many conference attendees, from all facets of the pipeline industry, stopped by LifeLast’s booth for a chance to learn more about our corrosion protection systems.  We sat in on the presentation of the Pima County Interconnect Project presented by Jaime Rivera, Pima County, Chris Lucie, Brown and Caldwell, Shah Rahman and William Ast, Northwest Pipe Company.  It was a great presentation on the benefits of polyurethane lined and coated WSP in wastewater applications.  The gondola ride and dinner at the top of Keystone on Tuesday was a memorable event that again was very well attended.  The conference was wrapped up  with the golf tournament at Keystone Ranch and our team was strong and took home the hardware thanks to stellar play by John Bambei, Denver Water and Larry Swim, Northwest Pipe Company-Denver.  It was great to meet all of you during the show, we look forward to seeing you all in Seattle next year!

Gearing up for Pipelines

We are gearing up for the 2010 Pipelines conference in Keystone, Colorado. We really enjoyed last years show in San Diego and are looking forward to exhibiting again this year. If you are interested in the show you can find information at ASCE.org or if you are attending, stop by our booth and say hello.

ACE 10 Wrap-Up

Jeff and I got back last week from the ACE ’10 show in Chicago. Jeff was in town a few days early to chair the Coatings and Linings Committee for SWPMTAC where a lot of productive work was accomplished. The conference was very well attended and we had the opportunity to catch up with some old industry friends and make a few new ones.
